Brooks first started his stage combat training at the University of Michigan under the instruction of Robert Najarian. Since then he has trained with Robert Leonard at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Christina Traister at the University of Michigan. Brooks is an Advanced Actor Combatant with Recommended Passes in 6 of the 8 weapon styles and has his black belt in Tang Soo Do. Most recently he attended the Fredrickson Stage Combat intensive where he studied smallsword with Fight Master Ian Rose.
