Troy is a Houston native and received his Bachelor's in Fine Arts in Acting from The University of Houston for his education where he started his journey with stage combat and the Society of American Fight Directors.

From attending his first class over the summer to learn quarterstaff to the Texas Stage Combat intensive and becoming the Assistant Coordinator at it years later, Troy has a love for the SAFD and it's incredible Fight Family. Using staged combat as a tool to elevate storytelling is something Troy wishes to share with all performers.

Along with his training with the SAFD, Troy is an active practitioner of Muso Jikiden Eisin Ryu Iaido, Arnis, juggling and loves to practice and learn whatever he can from others.
