Almanya Narula is an award wining Thai-Indian international actor, fight choreographer, dancer, and writer from Bangkok, Thailand.
She started her career in the entertainment industry at a young age where she was a child actor in various Bollywood films. Previously, she was very involved with the Chicago theatre industry collaborating as an actor and fight choreographer for several acclaimed and award winning productions.
Inspired by the life Noor Inayat Khan - an Indian princess turned British WW2 spy, Almanya recently developed a solo show based on the aftermaths of Noor's attempted escape from Avenue Foch (WW2 Gestapo HQ) leading up to her tragic assassination in Dachau. Noor Inayat Khan: The Forgotten Spy, premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2022 and was met with rave reviews from the audience and critics. It was nominated for 6 awards taking home 2 wins!
Since then, Noor Inayat Khan: The Forgotten Spy has toured to sold out shows across the nation. Most recently the show made its Off Broadway debut at the historic Theatre Row as part of the United Solo Fest, where Almanya took home a 'Best Actress' award. The show also made its Chicago premier at the Edge Theater hosted by the Sarah Siddons Society.
Other recent theatre credits include; Playing Maxine Hadley in TheatreSquared's acclaimed production of Dial M for Murder, where Almanya took home a Best Supporting Actress' award, being the fight choreographer for the Tony award winning, Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of POTUS, and the violence designer for Theater Wit's productions of The Whistleblower, and Teenage Dick.
Almanya holds a B.A. in Theater & Advanced Management with minors in Stage Combat and Voice Over from Columbia College Chicago, an M.A. in New Arts Journalism from School of the Art Institute of Chicago . In 2022 she graduated the Stella Adler: Art of Acting Professional Conservatory with an M.F.A. equivalent.
