Alyssa Kay is an actor, combat and intimacy choreographer, movement coach, and educator currently located in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. She has been practicing stage combat since the age of twelve, informed by a strong background in dance and physical theater. Alyssa earned her BA in Drama from the University of Washington in 2005, and further trained in mask, clown, commedia, and physical ensemble theater at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy.

Prior to moving to Virginia Alyssa was based in the Puget Sound area of Western Washington and served as the NW Regional Representative for the SAFD 2019-2023. During her time there she worked with a wide range of companies as an actor and choreographer, including Seattle Rep, ACT Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Seattle Opera, Tacoma Opera, Harlequin Productions, Strawberry Theatre Workshop, the University of Washington, and Seattle University where she taught stage combat 2021-2023. Her work can also be seen in a variety of films, web series, and video games as a performance capture artist. Alyssa is passionate about the safe, effective, and impactful portrayal of violence and intimacy on stage and in film and is proud to be a member of the SAFD.
