Fight Director / Certified Teacher / Theatrical Firearms Instructor
Christopher is a Full Professor of acting and stage combat at the University of Utah. He has worked as an actor, fight director and guest instructor throughout the country. Academically, he has been a guest instructor at such universities as Stanford University, San Jose State University, Southern Utah University, Southern Oregon University, California Institute of Technology, Chapman University, Pomona College, and California State University Fresno, among others. As an actor, director, guest instructor, and fight director, Christopher’s work has been seen at such regional theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (19 years), Dallas Theatre Center, Denver Theatre Center, South Coast Repertory, Sacramento Theatre Company, Laguna Playhouse, Shakespeare Orange County, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Great Lakes Theatre, Shakespeare Orange County, Syracuse Stage, Riverside Civic Light Opera, Utah Opera, Salt Lake Acting Company, Asolo Repertory Theatre, and many others. He serves as the Resident Fight Director at Salt Lake City’s LORT B theatre, the Pioneer Theatre Company. He is a Certified Teacher / Certified Fight Director / Theatrical Firearms Instructor with the Society of American Fight Directors, is recognized as a Master Teacher with Dueling Arts International. In addition, he holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in Aikido, and is certified as an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. He holds an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of "Stage Combat Arts: An Integrated Approach to Acting, Voice, and Text Work".
